Circumstances of death:

Alex is advancing with his unit around Courcelette, and the whole battalion were in Hessian Trench, while the Companies from the 7th battalion were in Zollern Trench. Alex were declared killed in action September 27th 1916 since have been missing in action between 24-26 of September and are commemorated at Vimy Memorial. That means that he were just around a month in the battlefield before he paid the highest price in the battle.
